Not How I Planned My Wedding Night

For this story, we mainly sourced from the Golden Legend’s account of Cecilia’s martyrdom.

Sts. Valerian, Tiburtius, and Maximus have their feast day on April 14. As the General Roman Calendar notes, literally the only thing we know about them is they were buried together in the Catacombs of Praetextatus.

Same scene, Italianized, by Orazio Gentileschi. Note Tiburtius peeking in through the doorway.
